“Don’t Drown Our County” is a community memories project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and Rutland County Council. We have filmed interviews with many people who were there at the time and affected by and involved in the construction of Rutland Water.

 

This archive was shared via a series of exhibition events across the county in the summer of 2019 culminating in permanent exhibitions at Rutland County Museum and the Rutland Water Visitor Centre at Sykes Lane . The footage and interviews are online here.
